TPM

Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) is a methodology that increases productivity, efficiency & safety by enabling operators, team leaders & managers to play a proactive role in day-to-day maintenance & operations within their own work areas.

The 3 main goals of TPM are zero unplanned equipment / process failures, zero output defects and zero workplace accidents, which are achieved through the 8 pillars of activity:

Some of these activities, including 5SKaizen, Focused Improvement Projects (Kaizen Events) & Autonomous Maintenance are covered elsewhere within the SES lean toolbox.

This lean tool provides an overview of TPM and the steps involved in its implementation, such as the establishment of 5S & maintenance standards, training activities and review processes.
