TPM

Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) is a methodology that increases productivity, efficiency & safety by enabling operators, team leaders & managers to play a proactive role in day-to-day maintenance & operations within their own work areas.

The 3 main goals of TPM are zero unplanned equipment / process failures, zero output defects and zero workplace accidents, which are achieved through the 8 pillars of activity:

Some of these activities, including 5SKaizen, Focused Improvement Projects (Kaizen Events) & Autonomous Maintenance are covered elsewhere (within this Toolbox).

This lean tool provides an overview of TPM and the steps involved in its implementation, such as the establishment of 5S & maintenance standards, training activities and review processes.
