KAIZEN


Kaizen Schemes are systems that drive and support continuous improvement through the generation, implementation and recognition of improvement ideas or projects within all areas of a business.

Kaizen ideas eliminate waste, drive innovation or generally create value for customers in terms of Safety, People, Quality, Cost or Delivery. Ideas can be generated by everybody, everywhere, everyday!

This lean tool introduces the Kaizen raising, recording and recognition processes as well as some of the visual management tools that are used to support the scheme.

Part of the scheme involves the running of regular Kaizen Events, during which a team will set aside their other responsibilities for a period, in order to focus on solving an important challenge in short order.

Kaizen events follow the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check & Act) structure, during which a particular process is analysed and several Kaizen improvements are raised. This is supported by a series of preparation, gap analysis and handover activities:
